Publications as part of the CapDecK programme

The Programme on Capacity Development for Decentralization in Kerala (CapDecK) was instrumental in the publication of a vast number of books, studies, workshop reports, training manuals, handbooks, booklets and leaflets. While the partner Panchayats and organizations published most of them, a few of them were by the SDC-CapDecK Programme Coordination Unit (PCU). Those published as part of the People's Plan campaign are not included in this.

Those that are available in soft copies are reproduced on this site. For other publications, which are available only as hard copies, please contact the concerned organizations/Panchayats.

  6. Decentralised Administrative system - An Analysis July 2002 : KILA-CapDecK (Malayalam & English) 'Decentralised Administrative System- An Analysis' was the result of a large scale participatory analysis of the decentralized administrative system in the State. It tries to find out the status and problems of the Panchayati Raj administrative system and comes out with remedial measures and responsible institutions. link

Participatory Action Plan for Livelihood of Fish workers - Process Organizer : KILA-CapDecK (Malayalam & English) The Participatory Action Plan (PAP) developed as part of the KILA - CapDecK Action Research conducted in Chaliyam fishing village of Kadalundi Gram Panchayat, Kozhikode district. It provides experiences of promising outcome if creative interface between the multiple stakeholders are provided. The output of this action research will be an impetus for other coastal Panchayats to replicate. link

Panchayat Raj Samvidanavum Sthreekalum - Kaipusthakam : Sakhi Women's Resource Centre (Malayalam & English) This handbook elucidates the methods that can be used by Panchayats to undertake the study of status of women, there by making the local governments and community gender sensitive. This book is a useful reference tool for the local government institutions to effectively carry out local planning with gender sensitivity. link
